The historical-cultural heritage of Jerez de la Frontera is noteworthy for not being the capital of the province. If you come to Jerez we strongly recommend visiting the Cathedral of San Salvador of Jerez de la Frontera, the Alcazar of Jerez, the Monastery of Cartuja, the Andalusian Horse Monument and the churches of San Miguel and San Lucas, among other landmarks of great monumental value.

Without leaving this form of cultural tourism we can recommend a visit to other places like the traditional Bullring of Jerez, the Clock Museum and even during walks in the city you can admire many palaces and manor houses.

Approximately during the second week of May is celebrated every year the Horse Fair; during this festival you can see horses and horse carts in the Park Gonzalez Hontoria, some of them are even for sale. There are also stalls and other fair attractions.

The town is well known for motor enthusiasts as many competitions of both cars and motorcycles conduct training and even races in the circuit of Jerez.

Being an inland town you cannot enjoy a day at the beach here, but the city of Cadiz, Puerto de Santa Maria and Sanlucar de Barrameda are destinations situated close to Jerez that do have great beaches.
