Who doesn’t like a shopping day? Let’s get to know the best shopping centres in Malaga so you can make the most of the experience. As you will see below there are many options to choose from, some may include activities for children, something to keep in mind if you are travelling with the family.

Which shopping malls in Malaga are open on Sundays or public holidays? Well, it depends on the day, in our guide you can check which ones are open and which days they are open. Look for the one you are interested in and you will find all the information about opening hours and services.

Shopping malls are often not only ideal places to go shopping; we can also enjoy their leisure facilities, watch the latest film in modern cinemas or have a drink while being protected from the heat or cold outside.

Corte Ingles

This large shopping centre is very close to the city centre. El Corte Inglés was inaugurated on 25 May 1979, so it has been with us for quite a few years now. It was a revolution at the time and is an easy shopping centre to walk around.

Everything is distributed by floors unlike other shopping centres. You will find a wide range of fashion, sports, computers, toys, jewellery and more. There are two buildings that are connected underground, the largest one was the first to be built.

Options for getting there

It is located in the middle of Avenida de Andalucía. You can get there on foot from the train stop, it is the last stop. You can also go by car and use the undeground car park of the shopping centre.

Malaga Plaza

Next to the Corte Inglés you will find Malaga Plaza, a shopping mall where you will find various brands such as Fnac, Primor, Burger King, Juicy Avenue, Goijo and many others. Its construction was completed in 1993 and since then it has become a place of reference among the people of Málaga.

Malaga Plaza is a pleasant shopping mall and its architecture makes it stand out from others.

Options for getting there

Parking is available, you will have no problem getting there by car or on foot from the last train stop, as it is just as close as the Corte Inglés.

Monday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm. No information is available on holidays or Sundays when it is open.

Larios Centro

We continue visiting the shopping centres in the city centre, and this time it’s the turn of Larios Centro, located between the María Zambrano train station and the Corte Inglés, inaugurated on 20th March 1996. It is perhaps the most popular shopping centre in Malaga, with a multitude of shops and places to eat while you stroll around.

As well as holding monthly events, it has cinemas showing the latest films and is fully adapted to the current Covid-19 situation.

Among its special features, it offers customers a free electric car charging service while they shop. It is located on the first floor of the car park.

Timetable

  • Shops and supermarket from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Catering: Monday to Thursday from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm, Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays open until 1.00 am.
  • The car park closes at 11pm.

Vialia

This shopping centre is located in the María Zambrano train station and offers a large shopping area with well-known brands such as Mediamarkt, Mercadona, Women’s Secret and many others. You will find fashion, accessories, computers, services and much more.

In addition, its leisure offer includes 13 Yelmo cinemas with the latest films.

  • Supermarket: until 10pm.
  • Restaurants: Monday to Thursday: from noon to 1am. Friday to Sunday and holiday eves: until 2am.

Los Patios Shopping Mall

At the entrance to Malaga if you are arriving from the western Costa del Sol, you will find the Carrefour Los Patios shopping centre. It is another of the shopping centres with history in Malaga, the building was inaugurated in 1975 although nowadays it has been completely refurbished. It used to be the well-known “Pryca Los Patios”, but when the brand name disappeared it became part of the Carrefour group.

In addition to being a hypermarket with all kinds of food products, it has a variety of shops; from pets to florists, Marco Aldany, Mayoral, McDonalds, Mysushi, opticians…

Malaga Nostrum Shopping Mall

Malaga Nostrum was inaugurated in 2005, it has more than 82000 square metres and more than 3000 free parking spaces.

This shopping park includes two main sections: Malaga Ocio and Malaga Factory. You will find all kinds of entertainment and top brands. Bowling, cinemas with Cinesur, playground, places to eat and shops of all kinds for an entertaining shopping day.

Among others you will find the popular Animal Shop, for pets, and Bauhaus which is an extensive decoration and furniture shop for garden and interiors.

Options for getting there

You can go by bus getting off at the Malaga Nostrum bus stop and walk the rest of the way. Another option is to go by car or ask us to take you there.

Plaza Mayor

This large shopping centre began its adventure in Malaga in 2002, since then it has not stopped growing and has continued to expand in 2020 with its luxury outlet; thus adding another 38 shops of major brands to the already extensive offer.

Unlike other shopping malls in Malaga, this is a building that tries to emulate typical Andalusian architecture, with a large square in the centre of the complex. It is open-air, but has an canopy to keep out the direct sun, which won’t keep you out of the heat if it’s a hot day, otherwise it’s very pleasant all year round.

While the central area is more dedicated to cinemas and restaurants, in the adjoining complexes you will find numerous fashion, sports and perfume shops and even a Mercadona supermarket. There is also a Mediamarkt, Nike shop, pharmacy, Game shop, leisure facilities and Yelmo Cineplex cinemas.

There is a play area for children both in the main complex and in the next complex and special events during the summer months.

Options for getting there

Located between Torremolinos and Malaga, it has its own train stop, making it easy and convenient to get to. If you go by car you can use the large car park.

  • Shops and supermarket: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • Restaurants: Monday to Sunday from midday to midnight.

  • Cinemas: Monday to Friday from 4:45 pm to 9:30 pm – Saturday from 3:45 pm – Sunday from 11:45 am.
