After leaving the airport we take the road heading south until reaching a roundabout and we take the second exit, continuing straight. Once past the roundabout we continue straight across a bridge and take a sharp turn to the right.
We join Velazquez Avenue towards Malaga driving for several kilometres until we see the sign indicating that we have to place ourselves in either lane more on the right to take the exit to the MA-20 motorway towards Motril / Antequera / Seville / Granada.
Once incorporated into the Mediterranean motorway or A-7 we drive in the middle lane and leave behind two exits to Malaga city. We will go through a tunnel and after driving several miles on the motorway we reach a bifurcation where we have to place ourselves in one of the two left lanes and take the A-7 to Rincon de la Victoria / Motril / Almeria.
Note: From here on be careful with traffic signals that reduce the usual maximum speed of the highway to only 80 Km / h; we advise this because there are radars that will be fining you if you exceed that speed.
You´ll leave behind several long tunnels and you'll soon realize that the route to Nerja is very easy and convenient and you won´t have to take more deviations to reach the destination.
Along the way you will see different exits to other coastal towns such as El Palo, la Cala del Moral, Rincon de la Victoria, Velez-Malaga, etc. However we continue driving for a distance of approximately 45 km until we reach the turnoff to Nerja / Frigiliana.
By taking this turnoff we will soon see a roundabout which will leave at the first exit. Following this path we will find four more roundabouts, but our resolution will be easy, we take the exit that allows us to go straight and after circumventing these roundabouts we finally reach Nerja.
